Where is a good place to buy a fire extinguisher for your homea Where is a good place to buy a fire extinguisher for your homea
Danman hello!
Protection against fire and fire extinguishers has been my line of work for nearly 20 years, so I think I can give you some information here.
First, let me say good job to decide to buy a fire extinguisher for your home. Person at home should be without smoke detectors or a fire extinguisher.
Your average store bought unit (Wal * Mart, Home Depot, etc.) is generally not going to be the best quality. I recommend you stay away from the unit heads with cheap plastic or nylon. The plastic unit colleagues often are "stuck" on full! They also may not be rechargeable.
units of the metal head is much better and last decades if cared for properly. I recommend Amerex, Ansul, or units of the Badger brand. First Alert Ansul private labels metal heads for resale in discount chains. They are not bad. Stay away from Kidde, if the head is plastic.

As Fordman said, look for "fire extinguishers" in the yellow pages for a list of centers and sales service. They will be able to sell you a better camera and have all sorts of types and sizes to best suit your needs at home.

Good luck, be careful.
I think Wal-Mart sells
I'd go to Lowe's or Home Depot. You can check with your fire department to see what their recommendation is.
Any store supplies for the home or building: Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.
Home Depot, Lowe's ....
I guess it depends on what you want. You can get small ones that are in the home improvement stores or you can look in the yellow pages and call a supplier of fire extinguisher and get real. That's what I did, if I have a fire I want to be able to shed some serious self-timer on this.
I just bought a first warning "tundra" extinquisher Wal Mart. It is in the car or near the stove. It is like a aresol can. Is supposed to be more efficient than units of a book that most people buy. Several small units located in places around the house statigic perhaps better than one big one. You can not always be able to go to the great. This is a fire that starts on the stove as an example and you can quickly turn it off. Do not put all the house once it is on fire. The one I just bought is as easy to use as a paint can. No mounting bracket or pins to fuss with. Just point and shoot. The cost was $ 14.00
