Closed Circuit Camera

I'm worried break-ins/etc. b / c I live with roommates shade. What is a closed circuit camera doa Is that where I'm constantly looking at or should we just tape so I can watch it later. I can not find this info online for some reason. I would appreciate your help and info. Thank you!

closed circuit simply means that the signal is sent somewhere directly, rather than being openly broadcast. They are generally recorded on a hard drive.
