The easiest way I can think to do is mechanical. Use a solenoid to press the send button on a mobile phone. The phone number is either already registered or destination text ready to send SMS. Solenoid valve triggered by an alarm system.

Other techniques use the connector on the phone, but I'm not sure what the protocols are used for this.

Good idea, but you'll probably patent issues. The device is already on the market in limited areas.
