Do you have a laundry system that worksa My biggest downfall when it comes to housework, laundry. I can not get organized. I wash, or (sometimes left in the dryer). I have baskets of clean clothes lying around. I lose socks, as there is no tomorrow. What system works for youa
I remain an obstacle in the room of my son, my daughter's bedroom, our bedroom and bathroom. I also put a bag of underwear (you can get them at Wal-Mart for $ 0.94) for each basket, such as socks, laces, and everything can be "lost" can be there. It took me two nights a week aside to do the laundry and I make a commitment to get there that night. Each family member has its own laundry basket with their name on it. "Towels" also have their own basket. Their clothes are segregated in their own baskets. When I am completely done with clothes for the night, then I put on their clothes. My husband and I share the tasks. He puts aside our clothes and towels, I put the child's clothing.
Hope this helps!
welll ... my washing machine uses way too much water and the engine is blown dry and smellls like grass burns every time we turn it on ..... if our system is callled the laundry mat ... it alll it and you can not get distracted.
We use for laundry baskests specific. It is a color coded sysytem. I "created" it during my time living alone. Which sorts and each clothing basketload (equivalent to washing load) just goes into the washer. I love doing laundry!
The towels are washed every 5-6 weeks (we have lots of towels), but they are completely dry after use before going into washing baskets. The leaves are generally washed immediately out of bed.
As soon as the dryer goes off, the clothes are removed, folded and put them away immediately. The baskets should be exempt from clean clothing, to take the clothes for next time.
Things that need ironing are dried on hangers in the bathroom. As each item is ironed it on a hanger and goes directly into the closet. This is not a complicated system and does not take much time or effort to implement.
Although we do not use them for socks, try the mesh bags for delicates for your socks. This should minimize the loss of sock. You can use these net bags for small items that could be "eaten" by the washer or dryer. Hope this helps solve your problem!
I totally hear you! Once our daughter came along things have gotten worse, if what I do is a charge per day. The day before, I put a load in the washer with soap, etc. .. then start running. In the morning I go down first thing and turn it on. When I get my daughter and we have breakfast, the washer is done and I transfer to the dryer. Once finished, I fold the clothes and immediately put away. If I stick to that, I find myself hunting for laundry to do every day. Once we have another child, I can not get to try so hard! lol I can not really claim that the system ... This is part of flylady. Good luck!
