Portable Room Heaters

Posted on October 4, 2010.
Portable Room HeatersIs it cheaper to use a portable heater or central heatinga

I wonder what is cheaper because the labels on portable heaters they say its cheaper and how much you can save and Im wondering is it cheaper to use the heater or the use of home heatinga

The heaters are always more economical than central heating. The reason is that you do not need to heat the areas that you do not and you can "rotate" the heat in areas that you use without running your utility bills. We use our family room a lot so we have a heater there. We can keep the thermostat refused while keeping warm as warm room. If one raises the central pressure to keep this room as warm as we'd like, we would have a very large heating bill.

Too many variables to be able to give you a precise answer.
What type of fuel used in your ovena
What is the cost of fuel furnacea
How many square feet in the housea
What is the average R factor of the housea
What kind of fuel doe use portable heatera
How much do you pay for heating fuel portablea
How big is the area that the portable heater to heata
Etc, etc, etc.

I would be careful to use a portable heater, they are major fire risks ... it's probably cheaper to go this route as central heating ..
