Types geothermal heat pump - radiant heat, convection, and Split Combo There are 4 different types of geothermal heat pumps available today.
Everyone has a different method of connecting to the network distribution of heating in your home or building. Some types are more effective than others to provide space cooling of the building, but that is a distribution.
All these types of geothermal heat pump still draw their energy from the ground loop that transfers the heat absorbed in the inner loop of refrigerant. This is what happens to the heat after it is what makes the difference between types.
The four different types of geothermal heat pumps are water to air, water to water heat pumps and split combo.
Water to air
The first heat pump and probably the most used is water geothermal heat pump air. This heat pump is used for homes with forced air systems, and in fact replaces a conventional furnace. The ground loop brings the heat absorbed in the refrigerant loop (the water "the water to air). That the refrigerant is then compressed and recycled in front of a fan coil unit must be sent by the division of labor leads to the house (the air "water to air." This process may also be put in reverse to provide cooling to a structure.
A design problem is the dimensioning of the ducts. Because geothermal systems are considered a low temperature heat source, a larger volume of air is necessary to provide the same heating or cooling load. This will either require larger ducts to accommodate the larger volume of air, or a specialized small ducts at high speed as the forced air system or SpacePak Unico.
Water to water
The second type is a water to water, or hot water. Such functions as are all other heat pumps on the side loop of refrigerant mass, but instead of sending the compressed and heated refrigerant to a fan coil, it is transferred directly to another circuit water flowing through the heat pump, and distribution, water-based. This distribution is the hot water mostly radiant heat (geothermal Radiant and article), but it can also be used in conjunction with hot water or snow melt system outside.
Combo
The third type of heat pump is a combination device. This combines the two previous types, providing both forced air and hot water distribution. It is the perfect houses or buildings where the two distribution types are present. Some areas may be the loss of high heat, such as rooms with large windows, or near an exit door and it will take more heat into the space or just simply radiant forced air could provide alone. This is a combo unit that can handle both can be very useful.
Split
The last type of market is known as a fractionation unit. This type is essentially the same as a regular geothermal heat pump on the waterfront, but it sends the refrigerant into a long loop to treatment with air at a distance. This makes it easier in the big job to keep the heat pump in a mechanical part with all the loop area and connections center of flow, and still have an air handler for the heating to a remote location, such as the second floor of a large house. This allows greater flexibility in the overall design of the heating system.
