Native Instruments - Abbey Road 60S Drums - Released! ABBEY ROAD | 60 DRUMS is the first instrument of "indigenous collaborations with Abbey Road London Studio. This instrument provides KONTAKT expressive acoustic drums that combine detailed realism with a flexible and nuanced control. Containing no emulation or the acoustic modeling of any kind, that instrument is composed exclusively of high quality samples of two vintage kits - beautifully recorded with a period equipment legendary Abbey Road Studio Two. The sound of Abbey Road | 60 DRUMS can be easily molded from the instrument itself, ranging from vintage to modern and take in all points in between.


An iconic symbol of the music industry since 1931, Abbey Road was the site of countless historical recordings by artists like Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, The Beatles, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Cliff Richard and the Shadows David Gilmour, Dido, Green Day, Groove Armada, Idlewild, Muse, Oasis, Underworld, Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, Kanye West, and numerous film scores. Throughout its long history, Abbey Road was the pioneer of studio technology and many technologies, and is now widely recognized as one of the most advanced recording, mixing and complex post- production in the world.


The heart of Abbey Road | DRUMS 60 consists of two highly sought after vintage drum kits. The round badge Gretsch White Marine Pearl (Jasper Shell) from the early 60 includes a 24 "bass drum, a 13" and a 16 "tom. The second kit is a Ludwig Hollywood from 1967 with a 22" kick and 12 ", 13" and 16 "toms.
- Snare, Ludwig Supra include a chrome-phone 400 (1966), Ludwig Jazz Festival Wood (1966), Ludwig Mahogany (1959) and Slingerland Radio King (1964).
- A selection of vintage Zildjian cymbals were used from the beginning and end of the 60s, including a rivet cymbal dating from 1963.


ABBEY ROAD | 60 drums were recorded using only the absolute best material period, including the legendary office REDD.17 mixing valve from 1958, an EMI TG Desk mixture introduced in 1967 and a valve Studer J37 4 piece band 1 inch from 1964. Each kit has been recorded with a microphone array in the collection of micro studio - one of the largest in the world. A selection of classical Neumann, AKG, Sony and CTS models were used to record each drum and percussion element both close and farther - capturing the atmosphere of legendary Abbey Road Studio Two. Individual signals direct microphone and room are all separately adjustable - giving you detailed control of the overall sound quality. For more details please consult the manual.


ABBEY ROAD | 60 DRUMS was executive produced by Peter Cobbina, director of engineering at Abbey Road, recorded by Mirek Stiles and attended by John Barrett and Kris Burton. Native Instruments sound designers Paul Maurer and Nicki Marinic were on hand to supervise the sessions. Drumming duties were performed by one of the best musicians in London, Ralph Salmin.
