Travel SafetyWhat steps are taken to safety Train Travela

I think to make a train trip from New York to Atlanta. I know all about the screening of airport security ~ but what about trainsa Do they x-ray baggagea Do they look through the hand luggage for securitya When I looked on the Amtrak website it does not really say anything about their security measures. Anyone here have personal experience with train travel and could enlighten mea Thank you!

No, they do not have X-rays of luggage, because there is absolutely no need for this kind of theater security on the railways - even if someone was crazy enough to put off a bomb, it would not do much damage on a train - it's not as if it was 30,000 feet above the ground, and trains are much more important than aircraft. Someone has placed a bomb on a train out TGV in France in the 1980s - even though the train was traveling at 168 mph (faster than you'll ever travel to the United States), the only effect was a hole enough Early in the exterior of the train, and no one was injured.

No, Amtrak does not matter! My daughter is moving all the time Amtrak from Chicago to CA. One might think that such an important hub that Chicago would be a kind of screening. They do not. No metal detectors or anything. You walk to the platform, right on the train. Kind of fear is not ita
